چکیده
Aim Non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) is known to develop into fibrosis, which increases the risk of cirrhosis and cancer. The association between periodontal condition fibrotic progression NAFL unclear. This study aimed clarify this longitudinal association. Materials Methods Among 4812 participants aged 35–64 years undergoing annual health check-ups 2003 2004, follow-up 5 later, 392 were diagnosed with NAFL. After excluding fibrosis at baseline, 341 followed up for years. disease score ??1.455 was used evaluate probability presence fibrosis. Results During period, 10.6% progressed A higher clinical attachment level (CAL) tended be associated incidence in logistic regression analysis (odds ratio [OR] 1.82, 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.94–3.49, p = .074). stratified by obesity revealed a significant CAL obese (OR 2.87, CI, 1.23–6.69, .015), but not non-obese participants. Conclusion Higher an increased adults

Association between Noninvasive Fibrosis Markers and Chronic Kidney Disease among Adults with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
Evidence suggests that nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) are associated with an increased risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD). In this study we aimed to evaluate whether the severity of liver fibrosis estimated by NAFLD fibrosis score is associated with higher prevalence of CKD in individuals with NAFLD. To this end NAFLD fibrosis score and estim...

متن کاملAssociation Between Appendectomy and Fibrosis Progression in Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
BACKGROUND A two-hit theory explaining the progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and fibrosis is widely accepted. Endotoxins entering the portal vein from the gut are thought to be one cause of this second hit, and the literature frequently mentions associations between gut-derived endotoxins and progression of fibrosis in NAFLD. The appe...
متن کاملAssociation between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and coronary artery disease.
OBJECTIVE Although some investigations have shown a relationship between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and cardiovascular diseases, there are few studies analyzing the relationship between NAFLD and coronary artery disease (CAD). The aim of this article was to review the relationship between NAFLD and CAD and the methods of diagnosis used to assess such relationship. METHODS A revi...
متن کاملAssociation between retinal artery lesions and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
OBJECTIVE Retinal artery lesions have been reported to be a risk marker of morbidity and mortality for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in various study populations. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is also a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. However, the relationship between retinal artery lesions and NAFLD is less certain. METHODS Data were obtained from 2,454 patie...
